Poem: Moments

There are moments…

There are moments that go by

That whisper in your ear

To slow down.

That tap on your shoulder

To embrace the present.

That echo in your heart

To enjoy the now.

These moments

These moments that go by

are fleeting.

They slip away like

the sun at dusk.

They pass away like

a shooting star.

They vanish faster than

the speed of light.

And as time progresses

Your memories return

To remind you

of why you told yourself

to embrace those moments

Because those moments

Gave you hope.

Those moments

Gave you meaning.

Those moments

Defined your existence.
