Haiku Poem: Sunset

Ocean of fire.

Set ablaze by the sunset

Where beauty has met.

Living in Florida, our family can go to the beach whenever we want. The funny thing is, after being here for over 3 years, I think we have visited the beach maybe a dozen times. Despite my infrequency, I still love the scene the sun gives as it’s rays beam off the water on the horizon.

The ocean looks like it’s on fire. This was the image that came to my mind. It was set ablaze meaning that the sun illuminated. I was deciding between “sunset” or the “sun’s rays.” But sunset better encapsulated the scene most people are familiar with.

This scene is beautiful. The sun’s powerful rays reflect off the enormously vast oceanic surface. Both are mighty in their own rights, but they come together here in harmony. At least from the vantage point of a human being. It’s no wonder that many people choose to propose during sunset because this is nature at it’s finest.
