Did you know that Psalm 117 is the shortest chapter in the whole Bible? Nevertheless, the message is quite clear: The Lord is worthy of praise! While you read through this Psalm, I want you to meditate on the meaning, apply it to you personally, and pray these wonderful truths back to God. Let’s begin!
Praise the Lord, all nations! Extol him, all peoples! For great is his steadfast love toward us, and the faithfulness of the Lord endures forever. Praise the Lord! -Psalm 117:1-2
Heavenly Father, let every tribe, tongue, and nation praise your great name. For there is neither Jew nor Greek; slave nor free; male nor female; for all of us are one in Christ (Gal. 3:28). This is the glorious news of the gospel that is freely given to all peoples. This gospel message of steadfast love toward all of humanity calls for racial reconciliation and justice.
Give us the courage to share this glorious truth to all ethnic and racial backgrounds. Help us to be faithful and committed to sharing the love of God to all our neighbors; For you are not a God of partiality or respecter of certain persons (Acts 10:34). Instead, you are inclusive to all and faithful to whomever puts their trust in you.
Your faithfulness endures forever. Your grace and mercy endure from generation to generation. We praise you for being good. We praise you for reconciling the world to yourself. We extol your great name on the Earth. Blessed be the name of the Lord!
