Poem: A Tree Just Like Me

In the deep woods of long ago

Where I once placed a seed to sow.

Stood that burly red oak tree.

It’s branches so tall and free.

Carved in wood rests my name.

Winters ago but still the same.

Growing like me in many ways.

Weathering storms and shiny days.
