Poem: Good Friday Sacrifice

“What is Truth?” said Pontius Pilate.

He turned to the crowd full of riot.

“I find no guilty charge in Him.”

This King of the Jews is without sin.

So, “Do you want Jesus alive or dead?”

Crucify Him! The crowd eagerly said.

Reluctant, the governor gave the command.

Even though this was God’s sovereign plan.

Via Dolorosa, Calvary’s long bitter path.

Where Jesus would endure God’s mighty wrath.

Beaten, bruised, and nailed to a Roman Stake.

The Spotless Lamb of God who died for our sake.
