“Always remember, you have within you the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars, to change the world.” -Harriet Tubman
American hero Harriet Tubman was an incredible woman. She was born into slavery in the 19th century, but was able to escape in 1849 to become a leading abolitionist and political activist. In her life, she rescued over 70 enslaved people through safe houses and the underground railroad.
Despite all the negativity in her life, she had such a positive attitude. She told the world they have strength, patience, and passion to reach for the stars and change the world. I am sure most of the time Ms. Tubman was told she couldn’t accomplish anything. She proved her critics wrong!
Ms. Tubman credits all her success to God. She once said: “It wasn’t me, it was the Lord! I always told Him, ‘I trust in you. I don’t know where to go or what to do, but I expect You to lead me,’ and He always did.” Praise God for Harriet Tubman. She is an inspiration for us all!
