Haiku Poem: Bittersweet Moment

Busy bees swarm now

As the bear claws for honey.

Bittersweet nature.

The bees are working hard to build their nest where they store honey, house their future generation, and protect themselves from the outside world.

But the bear is hungry. He enjoys the taste of honey and the ample protein from the larvae inside the hive.

When the bear attacks the nest, the busy bees begin to swarm. Swarm indicates a large presence of bees that are quite angry. They immediately attack the bear who is clawing their fortress.

This is a bittersweet moment. The innocent bees are losing their home, but the bear needs nutrients in order to survive. I used the word “bittersweet” to complement the picture of honey being eaten, but also the bitterness of nature’s brutality.
